Company Commits to Annual Donation to Support Families in Need

SAN FRANCISCO - Lucid Systems, Inc. and The Bright Minds Institute today announced the establishment of a scholarship fund to help defray diagnosis and treatment expenses for under-insured Bright Minds patients and their families.

The Bright Minds Institute s a multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment center for children with learning challenges and special physical needs. It offers diagnostic testing and medical management for all levels of learning, attention deficits (ADD/ADHD), autism, speech and language disabilities, and sleep disorders. It also helps children with seizures, physical needs, gross motor delays, sensory integrative dysfunction, motor-planning deficits, and balance and coordination difficulties.

The annual donation recognizes the close scientific ties between Lucid Systems and The Bright Minds Institute, represented by Dr. Fernando Miranda, founder of Bright Minds and co-founder of Lucid.

"Lucid Systems wouldn't exist without the expertise and vision of Dr. Miranda," says Lucid CEO Steve Genco. "All of our scientific techniques are derived in one way or another from Fernando's pioneering work using neuroscience to treat children with learning challenges at Bright Minds. We know those treatments can be expensive, so setting up a scholarship fund for under-insured patients seemed like a good way to say 'thank you', especially in these tough economic times."

Ongoing support for the scholarship fund will be allocated by the Lucid Board of Directors based on annual profits.
