David Remer, Founder and Chairman

David Remer serves as Chairman, leading the charge to establish investor relations and introduce Lucid Systems to the category. He also spearheads efforts to productize science and technology offerings. His marketing expertise produces instant credibility with target audiences.

Remer is the CEO and Creative Director of remerinc, a Seattle-based advertising agency with a national reputation for growing strong brands. He leads the agency’s strategic development for every client and oversees the creation of advertising and marketing materials that have garnered numerous prestigious awards, including a 2006 Gold Lion from the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Remer has offered creative counsel to such companies as ABC, ESPN, Microsoft, Kodak, Corbis, Getty Images, Starbucks, and United Way. He is also a nationally known speaker on the importance and disciplines of branding.

Stephen J. Genco, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Steve Genco serves as Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for providing strategic direction for Lucid Systems and for ensuring that we deliver industry-leading products and services to our customers.

Genco has 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, executive, consultant, researcher, and educator. He has held senior management and consulting positions at Stanford University, KPMG Nolan Norton, The Concours Group, and other leading firms, and has consulted with CEOs and executive teams at over two dozen companies and institutions. He has also led product strategy and management in four Silicon Valley startups.

Dr. Genco holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University and has an extensive background in research methodologies and statistical design.

Fernando Miranda, M.D., F.A.A.N., Founder and Chief Science Officer

Dr. Fernando Miranda serves as Chief Science Officer and is responsible for guiding all aspects of Lucid Systems’ scientific and neurological research programs, including leadership of the Lucid Systems Scientific Advisory Board. He is board certified in neurology, electroencephalography, neurological rehabilitation, sleep disorders, and evoked potentials, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.

Dr. Miranda previously founded the Bright Minds Institute in San Francisco, CA, where he serves as Neurologist. He co-founded the Maryland Regional Sleep Disorders Center for the Johns Hopkins Neurology Department and Baltimore City Hospitals.

Dr. Miranda served on the faculty of the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins Medical School, served as chairperson for the Division of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Lovelace Clinic in Albuquerque, NM, and has maintained a private practice in Vero Beach, FL, and San Francisco since 1989.

He received his M.D. in 1972 and received post graduate training in Behavior and Cognition at Baltimore City Hospitals and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Jennifer Mangels, Ph.D., Chief Research Officer

Dr. Jennifer Mangels serves as Chief Research Officer, providing leadership and guidance to our experimental protocol, design, and methodology programs. Leveraging her own and other leading neuroscience research techniques, she leads the development of sound and reliable neurometrics for measuring the key independent variables underlying media effectiveness.

Dr. Mangels is an expert in ERP, EEG coherence analysis, and fMRI technologies. After spending the past nine years as Associate Professor and Principal Investigator of the Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Attention Lab in the Psychology Department at Columbia University, she recently moved her lab to Baruch College where she will take her basic research in a more applied, market-focused direction.

Dr. Mangels received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1995, and did post-doctoral work at the Rotman Research Institute in Toronto, Canada with Dr. Terry Picton.

Andrea Jones, Vice President of Marketing

Andrea Jones serves as Vice President of Marketing. She oversees and ensures the effective operation of all Lucid Systems marketing and corporate communications initiatives, including corporate brand and identity management, channel marketing, communications and media relations, and our overall web presence.

Jones currently serves as Vice President of Strategy and Client Services at remerinc in Seattle, Washington. She has been working with leading Fortune 500 companies for over 10 years, consulting on brand management, marketing, and communications. She is responsible for all aspects of long term account planning and media placement.

Jones graduated with honors from the University of Denver and also studied extensively in England.
